“L -Look, I’m not proud of what we did—what I did.”
“And nothing can change what I’ve done to you. I don’t know if you’ll ever believe me when I say I’m sorry, but I am. Truly. With all that I am, I’m sorry. If I could bring her back—if I could bring them all back, I would.”
“… I know you aren’t, Ma Dai.” She sighed out, looking down. “However, as you said, nothing can change what you’ve done. What your family has done… However, I suppose the sentiments are appreciated.”

“But what’s done is done. We must live with what we’ve done, and… for you, it’s this deed, and for me… it’s the sins I’ve committed as well. However all of this… deters away from what we originally started talking about, hasn’t it?”
“I, uh… I see.” Ahem. “I’m… Sorry to hear that.”

“You had no idea, so I don’t see why you’re apologizing for asking a question. It was… my mistake anyway. I was the one to mention her, and I suppose as they say- curiosity killed the cat.” She paused, before adding, “She probably would’ve liked you, Ma Dai.”
“I -I’m not trying to fool anyone! I’m fine!—”
“…She? What do you mean?”

“… Ah’, well, my… daughter. She was afraid of thunder. She would come to me shaking, and whimpering when a thunderstorm would hit us. That’s why I was… able to figure out that you were scared of thunder. At least that’s what I’m assuming, anyway.”
“No it—it is not, I assure you! That is the last thing it is doing, a -ahahahaa!”
“Nope. Nothing wrong. At all.”
“Oh, please. I know that look, and that body language, Ma Dai.”

“You can’t fool me. It’s okay to be afraid of a little thunder~ Though I can’t say that you’re the first I’ve met who’s afraid of it, but your symptoms do remind me of how she acted when faced with it.”

“Master Guo Jia! Please I… would appreciate it if you expressed your fondness or appreciation in a more… conservative manner.”

“Ma Dai! Do you want me to rip your hand off?! Or better yet, rip off that smug smirk that’s on your face?!”
“Nope. Nothing.”
“Nothing at all, I a -assure you!”
“Surely you must be jesting. You’re practically quivering, Ma Dai.”

“You’re normally not like this when we’re together, so I know it’s not something I did… is the weather perhaps getting under your skin?”

“O -Oh? Really? I uh… Ahahahaa!~ No not quite!”
“I’m fine. Definitely fine—nothing to see here just… Just fine.”

“Are you sure? You’re rattling like a baby horse who’s taking his first steps. Is something troubling you, perhaps?~”
